Munster were able to exploit many of Glasgow's mistakes whereas the home team never looked capable of capitalising on errors by the Irishmen.
Glasgow weren't helped by the stomach bug that affected members of the squad. Calvin Howarth's early departure, and the absence of Dan Parks and Colin Gregor, who were both on international duty, meant Moffat">Stuart Moffat had to fill in at stand-off. Stuart actually did well in the playmaking role but wasn't able to exert the control on the game that a frontline no.10 could have done.
One bright spot was the play of Glenn Metcalfe, who on his recent form, still looks like he could do a job at international level.
On Friday he was Glasgow's most potent attacking threat and he never spares anything in his tackling. Despite his international "retirement", Glenn still looks fit and hungry to play for some time yet. A new contract at Glasgow will hopefully come his way.
This week the pro teams will receive news on their budgets for the coming season. It looks like there will be more cuts with the obvious result being smaller squads for Glasgow , Edinburgh and Borders, leaving players to deal with the uncertainty of whether they will receive new contracts, and the obvious stress this involves.
Professionalism may have brought great benefits to a small group of players, but for others it's the harsh reality of uncertainty and the annual scramble for new contracts.
