After completing their intensive training camp in Poland, meanwhile, there was no rest for Scotland's senior players yesterday as travel problems saw them forced to spend an extra night in transit.

The Herald reports that flight chaos in London meant the squad were re-scheduled to travel at 5am today following a 10 day stint of 7am starts and 12 hour training days at the Spala base which boasts the innovative cryotherapy ice chambers they first used a year ago.

"We believe we managed to put in three weeks of work in the space of 10 days, came through without any injuries and did a lot of work on goal-setting, addressing the sort of stuff you can't do when in competition," Matt Williams, the head coach, said as they landed back in the UK.
