Former Glasgow favourites, Rory McKay and Roly Reid, experienced mixed fortunes with their new clubs this weekend.

Rory's Manly Marlins snatched a last minute 23-22 victory over Sydney University in the Tooheys Cup, while Roly Reid's Golden Lions went down 27-21 to the Pumas in a Currie Cup match at Ellis Park in Johanessburg.

Rory was on the bench for the Marlins but didn't get onto the pitch, however, he did start for Manly in the 2nd grade match with Sydney University. It was a top of the table clash with Manly first and University second. Our Australian correspondant (Thanks Ray!) tells us that in an entertaining game University ran out 43-34 winners with Rory going over for a Manly try.
