"We can't get ahead of ourselves and have to up things by a notch or two this week. Only by operating tighter and harder will results come our ways with some of our play messy during the opening 15-20 minutes before we settled down and got our confidence back," Jon told the Evening News.
As Jon acknowledged, though, the Scots did have the benefit of a flying start and something similar has to happen and be sustained - before opportunity might knock with a famous win for the second successive weekend.
"There is definitely the chance of a big scalp but first of all we have to show we believe in ourselves.
"If, after 60 minutes, we are in touch with Australia then it will definitely be a case of game on. But another good start is essential," said Jon.
