Hugh Campbell fears he may lose players due to uncertainty in Scottish rugby
Glasgow coach Hugh Campbell has warned that the bitter in-fighting on who governs Scottish Rugby could affect matters on the pitch as well.

Hugh told the Scottish Mail on Sunday: "With the way the guys are playing at the moment there is an awful lot of interest in them coming from elsewhere.

"The guys are very concerned about their futures so we need to get this situation sorted out soon.

"The players have discussed it openly. It is something of great concern to them."

A number of Glasgow players will be out of contract at the end of the season and the current uncertainty in Scottish rugby could prompt some of them to play there rugby elsewhere.

Glasgow, like the other two pro sides, have alot of players with their contracts up in two months time. A few of these players are "big names" in the pro game too.

It doesn't really shed glowing references for the SRU when they can produce a glossy chart filled "business plan" document for the next four years yet, at the same time, fail to take care of their current employees contracts eight weeks before they are due to run out!

With the Six Nations arriving soon it's ideally not the best time to have those players involved in the Scotland setup in the dark about their own and their families future.

I fear that the three pro sides could see some "crowd favourites" dissapear over the next 2-3 months from the Scottish game. With SRU finances in the red they may have to offer contracts much less than players already have to save money. Will the SRU "bite the bullet" and release some players to reduce their wage bill?

I know alot of guys have been very loyal to the Scottish game for many years but when it comes to their families futures I think that their loyalty to Scottish rugby may well have to take a back seat.

With three pro SRU contracted players already attracting the atentions of two Zurich Premiership clubs and a South Wales side, Matt Williams "fortress Scotland" scheme looks as if it's beginning to crumble at an alarming rate.
