Paul Dearlove joins Scotland squad

Paul Dearlove has been called into the Scotland squad
Glasgow's Paul Dearlove has been enlisted to join the Scotland squad in training at Stirling today in preparation for the Six Nations Championship match against Italy at Murrayfield on Saturday.

Paul is required because of doubts about Jason White, the former Glasgow forward now with Sale Sharks, and Ross Beattie.

Paul is uncapped, though he played a game for Scotland during the tour to Australia last year. While on holiday there, he was drafted into the touring squad and made a replacement appearance against New South Wales Country, scoring a try in the 48-10 win.

He joins seven Glasgow colleagues in the squad.

A Scotland call up for another Aussie!

In the french team we have two from SA and one from NZ.
They are allowed to play for France after 3 years played in the country...
I'm not nationalistic at all but, about the two centre players, i would prefer to see some "french flair".
Don't be sad, at least, your guys from South have a real link with Scotland through Grandpa's and Grandma's.

Good luck for Italy

Yes links with grandparents who left these shores many many years ago but the current young Scottish bred players where do they fit in to the plans of Matt Williams in Scottish rugby these days?

I agree but,
Even before the new pair of coaches, Scotland had the habit to bring people from the South.
Can you imagine in France with a lot of resources in term of players!!

Australia has two South Africans and a Fijian. Wales has a South African and an Australian. New Zealand is packed with Tongans, Fijians and Samoans.
Get over it, Jimmy!

Oh I'm over it! I really couldn't give a monkey's. I just thought it worth noting when the Director or Rugby keeps announcing this healthy vision of bringing in the young Scottish bred players into international scene.
