Hugh Campbell wants to keep Gordon Bulloch and Jon Petrie at Glasgow
Glasgow coach Hugh Campbell is refusing to give up hope of keeping Scotland skipper Gordon Bulloch and club captain Jonny Petrie.

In today's Daily Record Hugh says: "We don't want to lose a senior player like Gordon. We'd like to keep him and Jonny but the fact is in Gordon's case we couldn't afford to keep him for what he is being paid at the moment."

Meanwhile, Sean Lineen reacted to the strong backing from John Jeffrey, Peter Wright and John Beattie that the Glasgow backs coach form part of the team to replace embattled boss Matt Williams.

Sean acknowledged he would love to get involved at some point in the future but insisted he is concentrating on his club's ambitions.

Sean said: "At the moment I am totally focused on striving to help the club get into the top eight of the Celtic League to qualify for the knock-out cup.

"But it's an ambition of every coach to be involved with his country at some stage."

JP yes, but GB a resounding No, hasn't played well for a couple of seasons, let Scotty Lawson and Fergus Thomson fight it out for the No 2 jersey, they are the future of hooking in Glasgow not GB.

It would bve great to think we could hold onto JP but I think it would be gopod to hold onto GB also, I am not suggesting that form wise he has been below par of late but I still think we are stonger with him as an option. Plus I think the stick he has taken on this site of late is of a questionable nature.

JP I'd be glad to see stay but GB simply not been good enough. We have good young hookers out there and the money saved could be better used elsewhere.

I was impressed all the time by GB in test games.
Unfortunately he doesn't break the line like he did perfectly in the past, maybe because the defences are very organised nowdays.
His throw in the lines out are not very good at the moment.
I can't make any comment about his games for Glasgow Rugby.
It must be hard psychologically for him at the moment with the bad results of the the Scottish squad.

Scott Lawson has been one of Glasgow's top players this season - I could live without Bulloch but JP and Sean Lamont would be big losses

dont know whether they are just desperate to play at a higher level (though relegated Saints wouldnt be higher for Sean) but does everyone remember when the big money was hauled out to keep Simon Taylor and Chris Paterson at Edinburgh???

Hugh Campbell is dreaming.

Sean Lamont - gone. Jon Petrie - gone. Gordon Bulloch - gone.

He is stuffing around with contracts with the whole team. This may become a self-fulfilling prophecy - no Glasgow team because there are no players. And make no mistake, Hugh does/doesn't do the contracts - not the SRU.

He needs to attend a few motivational and man-management courses. (and of course, some coaching courses)

Is Sean Lineen ready to step up?

You mean Hugh controls the budget for Glasgow and can keep these guys if he wants to Duncan?......

That is correct

Doubtful that Hugh controls budget--however if he does and pays these players what they want could he afford another 12 to make up the team
