Gregor asked to show what he's made of

After eight years as a pro Gregor Hayter has been called into the Scotland squad
It may have taken a few years but Scotland coach Frank Hadden thinks Glasgow's Gregor Hayter has the attributes to make an impact in international rugby.

At the age of 29, and eight years after he turned professional, this is the closest that Gregor, who has had spells with the Caledonia Reds, Edinburgh, Parma, Viadana and in rugby league but is now back with Glasgow, has come to international recognition.

Hadden accepted that while Gregor, 6ft 6in and 18½st, has always had the ability to go farther, he has not always had the application. "He is one of a number of back-row players holding their hands up this year," the coach said in today's copy of Viadana and in rugby league but is now back with Glasgow, has come to international recognition.">The Times. "I have known him since his Caledonia Reds days and was pleased to see him back. He is a 120kg back row with fantastic running skills. Sure he has only had a couple of starts, but I need to look at him in this company. There is no doubt there is potential. I know he can run, I know he can play. The only things I keep asking his coaches are about his workrate, his tackle count, how many rucks he is hitting, and if he is clearing out accurately."
