An outstanding performance

Posted by Assistant Editor on January 18, 2009 03:29 PM | 13 comments | Print | E-mail author

Sean Lineen was impressed with the hard work of Moray Low and rest of the front five
A delighted Sean Lineen praised his team after pulling off the weekend's shock result against Toulouse.

"It’s a great result for us. I’m really proud of the team and the game-plan worked a treat.

"We kept the ball well, because as we all know, one of the worst things you can do in a game like this is give the opposition possession.

"I was really happy with Dan Parks and the front five worked their socks off. I thought it was an outstanding performance, a real team effort. I’m absolutely delighted with the result."

Brilliant Warriors, if only you could transfer that passion and possession into the remaining M L games who knows where the team could finish at the end of the season. Incidentally, lets not be negative as some seemed to be after the last Firhill game, the guys didn't go out deliberately to have a bad game, these things happen!!

As a Warriors supporting Welshman, I also hope Frank picks Godman against Wales as he is pants.
Awesome display by the Warriors, just need to put my old home town away next weekend and take the momentum into the ML. Not a great game against Newport (sorry, Dragons) last time out but as we saw today, the introduction of Lyn Jones to the coaching staff has made them a much stronger unit, espescially in defence, they should have beaten Bath, as should the Warriors. Glasgow should still sweep them aside though.

Totally stunning result! Never been prouder to be a glasgow supporter! Does somewhat annoy me that we get beat off the Dragons then go beat Toulouse! Doesnt make much sense to me but hey! We will take this victory any day of the week. Sounds like the whole team played really well, lets hope its a springboard for the rest of the season!

Excellent result-couldn't make it to Waxy's but followed it with disbelief on the ERC website, especially after the Dragon's game. I have recently questioned whether this squad was good enough-results like this would suggest they are-they just need to produce this form more often & consistently. This is what makes Munster, for example, such a good side-they keep on churning out the results with only a few hiccups. Still-maybe this is the springboard for a good rest of the season starting on Sunday of course!! Let's hope for a bonus point win.

BRILLIANT!
Much more confidence now days for the Celts(ML).
Like some results this HC week end Glasgow to Toulouse, Cardiff to Glouster and a good performance from the Dragons V Bath.
It is very encouraging, the gap of level between ML, English and French championships is not so big as we hear and see in the medias.

Great game on Saturday. Still one or two things we did have a problem with such as gaps and a little poor tackling. But enough of that, if DP had got those penalties then even bigger yahoo. Overall can wait till Sunday and keep up the good momentum from Toulouse.

Well, I wanted some imagination and that was certainly what was delivered. Excellent ball retention, support play, passing, speed to the breakdown, set piece work and even kicking from hand. And superb resistance in the second half when Kellecher's bullying tactics intimidated Mr Barnes into chickening out of applying some of the laws fairly. An outstanding performance with 100% effort and application from all fifteen players and substitutes. What a difference! Well done everyone. Now that you have shown that can play top drawer rugby, let's have the same every match.

Did anybody else notice that the Guardian had Dan Parks at no10 in their team of the week after last w/e fixtures? The first appearance by a warrior in the fantasy team I think.

I'm not surprised, he had a fantastic game, and withstood the Toulouse taunts/screams/abuse well to step up and slot that final penalty.
