Chauncey returns home

Chauncey O'Tolle is returning to Canada
Glasgow Warriors have announced that flanker Chauncey O’Toole will return home to Canada this afternoon.

Chauncey joined the Warriors in September on a short term deal, but with the prospect of limited game time due to the impressive performances of some of the club's young Scottish-qualified players, both he and the Warriors felt it was in the best interests of both parties to separate.

The 24-year-old will now seek a club in Canada in order to further his chances of selection for his national team’s November tour of Europe.

Head coach Sean Lineen said: “Chauncey joined us on a trial basis during pre-season and returned to Canada before agreeing to come back on a very short-term deal to provide cover at a time when we had an unprecedented number of injuries.

“He made a positive contribution to the Warriors and continued to develop as a player during his time here and we wish him the very best of luck as he seeks to further his international career back in Canada.”

seems strange to have brought Chauncey in and not used him, surely what the Warriors are about is progressing Scottish players. If CO'T had brought something to the table then he would have been offered a long term contract! Just think there are many players out there that deserve a wee "go" rather than bringing in bit players for cover.
