Graeme Morrison is retiring after 10 years with Glasgow
It will be strange to watch the Warriors in the new season and not see Graeme Morrison in the squad.

Graeme has been at the centre of things at Glasgow for the last ten years after joining from Glasgow Hawks. That squad that Graeme joined in 2003 included players like Gordon Bulloch and Glenn Metcalfe. That Graeme is still here a decade later is a tribute to his hard work and loyalty.

The news that he's retiring on medical advice is particularly disappointing as Graeme has been in great form this season. The style of rugby Gregor Townsend is developing seemed to be going down well with the big centre. As well his trademark big hits, powerful running and marshalling of Glasgow's defence, Graeme was putting in his fair share of the sidesteps and offloads that have become such a feature of the Warriors' play.

This season an opposing player was quoted as saying that the Glasgow players look like they enjoy playing rugby with and for each other and Graeme certainly looked like he was enjoying it.

With John Barclay also moving on, Glasgow are losing 19 years of experience from the squad but it's up to the other players to reach and maintain the standards that Graeme and John set.

Best of luck to Graeme for the future and thanks for your 10 years as a true Warrior.
