The award was recognition for the work James puts in for the Warriors - both on and off the pitch.
James told Scrum Magazine: "It was nice to get the award, but what pleases me more is the club is really on the up.
"There is such a buzz around the place now that we are all based at Scotstoun full-time and I can only see that getting better. Before we used to use different facilities around the city on different days, but now we are all around each other all the time and the team spirit and the squad spirit is as good as I have ever known it.
"The support we get from the fans is also brilliant and at the moment and it seems like one big family and for me as a local boy that is really exciting to see and be part of."
