Blackadder, who played for and coached Edinburgh, is presently in charge of Toshiba Brave Lupus in Japan, but today's edition of The Times claims the Scottish Rugby Union believes it may be able to entice him back to Scotland to take on the Glasgow job after the departure of Danny Wilson.
Blackadder was a popular figure in the Edinburgh back row between 2001 and 2004. He took his first steps in coaching as Scotland's assistant forwards coach under Matt Williams. He served as Edinburgh's forwards coach under Frank Hadden before he took over as interim head coach for the bulk of the 2005-06 season when Hadden stepped up to the Scotland job.
Blackadder has also coached at Tasman, Crusaders and Bath.
