Bourgoin took advantage of an early penalty to take the lead but Glasgow came back to tie the scores with a Tommy Hayes penalty. Hayes missed a couple of simple penalty chances before Glenn Metcalfe went over for a try just before the interval with Hayes converting to make the score 10-03 at the break. The second half saw Bourgoin creeping back into the game through the boot of Peclier and they eventually took the lead in the last quarter of the game. The home side continued to miss opportunities as replacement Howarth was short and wide with two straightforward penalties. Glasgow were exerting lots of pressure but couldn't find a way through until with the game entering injury time they were held up illegally on the line allowing Howarth to slot the winning points.
Replacement prop Thibault Mazet was red carded by referee Mr De Santis, presumably for constantly killing the ball. Bourgoin also had another two players yellow carded during the game as they seemed content to give away penalties which Glasgow couldn't punish with successful kicks.
Unfortunately Glasgow couldn't win by 15 points so Bourgoin still have the advantage should the two teams be tied on points at the end of the group stage but it was a good win against a very strong side.
