Sale Sharks officials have assured Glasgow their European clash will definitely go ahead on Friday.

The Heineken showdown is in doubt because of the severe winter weather.
However, the Zurich Premiership side have consulted with their insurers and now have the staff and facilities to ensure their Heywood Park ground is playable.

Sale have no chance of progressing in the competition and may decide to field a weakened team and concentrate on domestic matters.

Kiwi Searancke dismissed reports that Sale would use the game as a training run. He insisted: "Sale's priority will be to reclaim some pride after losing all their heineken Cup matches so far - including the one against us. This is a very dangerous fixture for us but it is certainly not beyond us to beat them and then overcome Llanelli at Hughenden the following weekend.

"We need other results to go our way but the aim is to win both our remaining games and then worry about what happens eleswhere."
