Bartlett eager to impress

Warriors wing Michael Bartlett plans to use his first start in over two months to keep his World Cup hopes alive tonight.

Bartlett last turned out for the Warriors against Edinburgh back in November. And the Australian-born winger, who qualifies to play for this country due to a grandfather born in Stranraer, intends to take advantage of the Heineken Cup outing at Hughenden and show national selectors what he is capable of.

Michael explained: "It has been rather disappointing not being involved, especially missing out on the European Cup games. But the coaches needed to see everybody play and we have four or five wingers at Glasgow. There are a lot of guys whose contracts are coming to an end, myself included, and they have to see everybody in competitive action."

He added: "The frustrating thing was not getting the chance to show the Scottish selectors how well I was playing. There isn't a lot of time before the Six Nations. But I want to use this game, and hopefully some more, to underline the job I can do for them.

"My ambition is to be involved in the World Cup this year and it is still not impossible."
