Both players look set to line up at centre for the Scotland A clash with Ireland A at Bridgehaugh on Saturday 15 February (ko 7.30pm). McLaren moved to France this season to play with Bordeaux-Begles although there have been rumours he may return to Hughenden to plug the gap he left in the team.
Andy Henderson has missed a number of Glasgow games recently due to a head knock while McLaren has missed out on Scotland selection since moving to France. McLaren and Henderson will be eager to impress the selectors with the World Cup very much in mind.
If selected, both players will have little time to waste in renewing their understanding as Ireland look certain to field a strong team with British Lion Rob Henderson likely to play at centre.
