Double strike from White

Scotland had to settle for a draw with Ireland in the A international this evening at Bridgehaugh, Stirling.

The match finished at 22-22 with Scotland denied victory by Barry Everitt's last-kick penalty goal. Two Scotland A tries were by Warriors lock Jason White, giving the Scots a 12-5 half-time lead. Just as important, though, his defensive game was proof that he his ready for the top flight again after injury.

Hugh Campbell, the Scotland coach, described White's contribution in defence as "fantastic". The only blot on his copybook was his sin-binning for killing the ball. Scotland's other try was by former Warrior and Stirling County man James McLaren which went down very well with the Bridgehaugh crowd.
