Blades believes the Warriors can use last weekend's Pro-Cup success over Edinburgh as a springboard to a stunning climax to a shaky season.
And he is convinced they have the power and determination to topple the Borders at Netherdale tomorrow night and further boost their chances of leapfrogging them in the race for a place in the Heineken Cup draw.
Blades said: "The shackles were off in the Edinburgh match and the boys had a real confidence about them. Hopefully we can now take on the Borders and pay them back - because we owe them a thing or two after what they did to us earlier in the season."
Meanwhile, Jason White and Jon Steel return to the Glasgow team in place of Rory McKay and Michael Bartlett for tomorrow's match at Netherdale (7.30pm). Caretaker coach, Richie Dixon said: "Rory performed extremely well against Edinburgh, but you could not argue against the experience Jason possesses. Mike did nothing wrong either, but Jon is due a game. It is only healthy to have such competition for places with a lot of important rugby still to be played before the end of the campaign."
