Glasgow-bound Cameron Mather picked up the Leeds Tykes Supporters and the Players' Player awards at Headingly last night. Mather has become a firm favourite with the Leeds fans since joining the club from Worcester two seasons ago.

"People say you don't know what you have got until you lose it but I haven't even gone yet and I'm missing this place," he said.

"I've loved my two years at Leeds Tykes and it's great to get these awards."

"The fans come and watch us, where ever we are and no matter how we play, come rain or shine. To be voted for by them is great and to be awarded by your fellow players is also another great honour.

"They are a brilliant bunch here at Headingley and I'd like to thank Phil Davies for taking a chance and giving me the chance to come and play rugby with the club for the last two seasons."

Cammy also earned Leeds' nomination for the English Premiership supporters' Player of the Season. He also finished top of both the tackling and turn-over counts for the entire Premiership.

Many thanks to Tim Fitzpatrick for letting me use his photographs from the Leeds Tykes awards night. You can check out more photos of Cammy in action, and see just how much the fans at Headingley think of him.
