Glasgow have confirmed that Matt Proudfoot will be joining Glasgow after playing Super 12 with the Blue Bulls and Currie Cup rugby with Impala Leopards.
"We're pleased that Matt has an early release from his contract with the Impala Leopards in South Africa," David Jordan, Glasgow's chief executive, said today in announcing his full squad. "Glasgow are sure to benefit from the experience and knowledge he and Cammy Mather will bring."
Glasgow have also confirmed that Paul Dearlove, a 6ft 5in No.8 from Sydney University, who has been on the verge of the ACT Brumbies' squad, and Dan Parks, a stand-off from the Easts club in Sydney will also be joining.
Dearlove joined the Glasgow players in initial training today. Proudfoot will join the squad a month later, but it will be September before Parks arrives because of his club's Premier Cup commitments in Australia. Parks has been in superb form for Easts as they went through their Shute Shield campaign unbeaten. Parks scored 190 points in eleven games for Easts as they claimed the shield for the first time since 1969. Dearlove and Parks are eligible to represent Scotland.
