Glasgow's new Warriors

I thought I'd try to put a face and some background information to the new names in the Glasgow squad.

Cammy Mather

Cammy was a huge favourite with Leeds fans after scoring the Tykes first ever try in the Zurich Premiership when they defeated Bath on the opening day of the season. He played in Scotland with Watsonians and Edinburgh Reivers before moving south to join Worcester however after a frustrating season with injury in 2000-2001, he decided to join Leeds. Cammy qualifies for Scotland through a Stirling-born grandfather, George Urquhart, who was honoured for gallantry during the Second World War. He was included in the World Cup squad in 1999 and played ten times for Scotland A.

Matt Proudfoot

Matt is a Scottish international prop who joins Glasgow from Impala Leopards in South Africa. Matt's career has been hampered due to injury but he's now back in top form playing in the Super 12 competition for the Blue Bulls.

Dan Parks

Dan Parks will join Glasgow from Eastern Suburbs in Sydney. Dan has been a points scoring machine for the Beasts since joining them from Southern Districts. He helped Easts to their first Shute Shield title in 34 years with 190 points in eleven games as they went through the campaign unbeaten. Dan played for a short spell at Leeds Tykes and made a good impression on the Leeds fans.

Paul Dearlove

Paul is a highly rated No 8 from Sydney University. He's been a regular member of the ACT Brumbies back up squad and he captained Sydney University.

Simon Gunn

Simon joins Glasgow from Borders where his progress was hampered due to injury. Simon has Super 12 experience from his time with Canterbury Crusaders.

Sam Pinder

Sam is a scrum-half from Auckland, New Zealand where he represented Waipu and Northland. Sam played for a spell last year with GHA.

Graeme Morrison

Graeme joins Warriors from Glasgow Hawks. He's a big, powerful centre who has been representing Scotland in the Under 21 World Cup. He's highly rated by Sean Lineen who has worked with Graeme at Under 21 level.

Euan Murray

Another capture from Hawks, Euan is no stranger to the Glasgow squad. He has made a number of appearances at prop for Glasgow over the last two seasons. He's just completed his finals at Glasgow University Veterinary School.

David Millard

David is a winger of great potential who scored some blistering efforts for Aberdeen Grammar School FP.

Gareth McClure

Gareth is a wing/centre joins Glasgow from Newcastle. Bury-born Gareth joined Newcastle from West Hartlepool.

Joe Beardshaw

Joe can play at lock or in the back row. He graduated through Wasps Colts to the first team squad and has been capped at U21 level with England. Joe's huge presence (6'5'') on and off the field made him one of the most intimidating and respected players in the Zurich Premiership.

Mark McMillan

Mark has joined Glasgow on a training contract. He's a scrum-half with Stirling County and has been in action for the Scotland team in the Under 21 World Cup. He has captained the Scotland Under 18 team.
(I don't have a photo.)

Scott Lawson

Scott has also joined Glasgow on a training contract. He's a hooker and has helped out Glasgow a number of times last season.

Sean Lamont

Sean Lamont is a centre/wing who has joined Glasgow from Rotherham. He's made a name for himself in the Scotland Sevens team and Glasgow will want to make use of his powerful running.
