Gordon gives an indication of what players can expect from his leadership style.
"As any of the lads I have captained from teams in the past will tell you, I am not a quiet leader. Even if it is just encouraging people, I make myself as vocal as possible. I have handed out bollockings when necessary, but really at this level players know when they have done something wrong, and have the pride in their own performance to do something about it.
"It's a psychological thing, because what works with one player won't work with another. Some you kick, some you cuddle."
Gordon goes on to to talk about his new Glasgow teammate, Cammy Mather, who has joined the Scotland squad to replace the injured Andy Mower.
"I have met Cammy only once in the past four years because obviously he has been down in Leeds and I have not been playing for Glasgow, but I know we are getting one of the top performers, week-in, week-out in the Zurich Premiership last season.
"Cammy is another larger-than-life character, and he will be a huge asset to us."
