More silverware for the cheerleaders

The Glasgow cheerleaders are racking up the awards
The team may be struggling on the field at the moment but the Glasgow cheerleaders have been collecting quite a bit of silverware recently.

On a visit to Blackpool last weekend they won the Northern Classic Senior Dance Championship.

It's a fantastic achievement for the girls who have only been competing since July 2003 but in those five months their honours in British Cheerleaders' Association championships have included:

British New Squad Dance Division - Champions

British University Division 2003 - 3rd Place

British Senior (Small Squad) Dance 2003 - 3rd Place

Internationals Senior Dance 2003 - 10th Place

Congratulations to the girls - make sure you give them an extra cheer on Friday at the Llanelli match (ko 7.30pm).

Glasgow back-up squad hooker, Fergus Thomson (Glasgow Hawks), starts for the Scottish Districts Under-21 team who meet New Zealand Youth at Netherdale tonight.

The Glasgow squad had a 7.15am start today as Cammy Mather led them on an early-morning run.

Remember to cast your vote for Glasgow's player of the month for November.
