Surprise as Lamont drops out

Sean Lamont surprisingly dropped out of Scotland's Six Nations preparation squad
Sean Lamont is one of four Glasgow players to drop out of Scotland's preparation squad for the forthcoming RBS Six Nations Championship.

Scotland coach Matt Williams has trimmed the original 44 strong contingent brought together for successive residential training stints attached to the Institute of Sport, Stirling.

The other Glasgow men to miss out are Moffat">Stuart Moffat, Sam Pinder and Graeme Morrison but it is the absence of the in-form Lamont that caused the biggest surprise. Graeme Beveridge, Gordon Bulloch, Andy Henderson, Cammy Mather, Euan Murray, Dan Parks and Jon Petrie retain their places.

Sorry to see the four guys drop out but well done to the boys who are still there especially the two uncapped players - Euan Murray and Dan Parks.

On the form he's shown this season surely Lamont was worth a place in the squad at least and after Saturdays result perhaps the case becomes even stronger that his inclusion would have strengthened our wing

He does seem to be becoming an expert in the try saving tackle...probably to do with exposed sevens defending...
