Scott went over for the third Glasgow try — but it was his all-round performance which pleased his coach. Hugh said: "With Gordon away on Six Nations duty, Scott is certainly making his presence felt. I firmly believe he is one of the very few hookers who can challenge Gordon for a place in the Scotland set-up."
Glasgow had to withstand a late onslaught from Ulster and the coach was quick to praise his team saying: "We lost two tries at the end but the overall commitment in the tackle was excellent.
"The efforts of Sean Lamont and Alan Bulloch were as good as you will see anywhere at any time. There was a lot of self-belief, even though we were clear underdogs. This team can go anywhere."
