"I'm pretty hopeful that I'll be fit for selection against France.
"Once the swelling started going down I got more movement back and I've been working every day and over the weekend, in the gym and swimming. You never know, of course, until you return to full training, but I'm hoping we'll have some good news by the end of the week."
Cammy admitted to being hugely frustrated watching Scotland lose to Italy on TV: "It was a tough day for the boys and I really felt for them. I wanted to be there and support them, and I was confident we would win.
"It wasn't through lack of commitment we didn't win and I know the guys and know they can bounce back against France. There were a number of poor areas, which is for the players and coaches to address, but the chips are down right now and I know they will want to set the record straight against France."
