Dan said: "You can't really come over from Australia and think you are going to step straight into a Scotland jersey. But it's something I'm very proud of achieving.
"I've not been particularly happy with my performances when I've comeon as a sub and there have only been glimpses of the form I've shown for Glasgow.
"I hope starting against Ireland makes a difference and it will give me more of a springboard."
