Metcalfe and Moffat linked with French moves

Glenn Metcalfe may move to France
There are reports today that international full-backs, Glenn Metcalfe and Moffat">Stuart Moffat, are set to leave Glasgow for French club rugby.

Today's Herald reports that Glenn rejected an initial offer from Glasgow but chief executive David Jordan confirmed that a revised offer was on the table. "We have revised the offer and he seems reasonably happy with the terms but we haven't concluded anything," said Jordan.

Stuart is out of contact and is also being linked with a move to France. "It is always difficult at this time of year," said Jordan, "but these guys are professionals so, while they are negotiating on salary levels, they have to look at the remaining games as a chance to strengthen their case."

Not good - losing Glenn Metcalfe would be a massive blow for Glasgow - what are Glasgow and the SRU playing at? we dont need Kenny Logan but we do need someone with Glenn's flair and reliability

Agreed - where is the logic in letting Glenn go and bringing Kenny Logan in? Glenn still has a lot to give to Glasgow.

Then again, just how much input did Glasgow have in the Kenny Logan deal?

Losing Glen for next year would be a massive loss. We could end up with a surplus of wings and no regular full back. Where's the sense in that when money is tight. This is in danger of becoming a farce. The team looked as if it was beginning to take shape but it may be back to starting again from scratch. Surely someone can bring some common sense to bear before its too late!

I'm surprised even if i don't know a lot about GLASGOW rugby, but Glen seemed to be very involved in the club. It must be hard for coaches to build a team and a style of playing.

In this time, teams in europe seem to play the same rugby at different levels. We couldn't imagine in the past, british and antipodes players coming to france in rugby clubs with the language barrier. It seems to work, maybe because the same rugby is played everywhere.

Who the hell's going to play full-back next season? Rory Kerr?
