Sean Lineen has welcomed the selection headache his players have left him with
Sean Lineen has been given a major selection headache - but the Glasgow backs coach couldn't be more pleased.

The Warriors' stirring defeat of Ulster has posed a number of selection questions ahead of their Heineken Cup opener against Northampton on Sunday (ko 1.00pm).

Sean told today's Daily Record: "The guys put their hands up and there is definitely competition for places.

"It will be a huge game and every man in the squad is desperate to be part of the big-stage scene. The result was a fantastic confidence boost."

"The result (against Ulster) was a fantastic confidence boost and the fact that Ediburgh won as well is great for the game in Scotland. Borders lost very narrowly, so things are looking up as we go into a crucial stage of the season.

"They (Northampton) have a very cosmopolitan team from all over the globe, with only three or four Englishmen.

"We are aware that their recent record is not all that hot with five losses on a row. But that sort of statistic counts for nothing in European compettion. We are looking for all our fans to turn up to back us. If we can get more than 5000 along, it will certainly inspire our players."

Coach Hugh Campbell will give hooker Gordon Bulloch as long as possible to recover from injury after being forced him off in the early stages against Ulster. The Glasgow team will be announced of Friday morning.

Competition rules!

But for our Scottish teams preference must given to Scots : or change your team name to the likes of some cosmopolitan, soccer team such as Rangers or Celtic!

Suas Alba!
