The Murrayfield clash comes outside the agreed window for autumn Tests so coach Matt Williams will be without the likes of Tom Smith, Stuart Grimes and Jason White for the first of four Abbey Autumn Tests.
But new Scotland skipper Gordon was still looking confident in his side's ability to deal with the withdrawals.
He said: "It would have been extremely difficult at one time but the depth of our squad has increased and it's now very competitive.
"We have a lot of players playing very good rugby although it's a shame Glasgow and Edinburgh are not getting the wins to give us more confidence.
The country's top two professional teams have had a poor start to a Heineken Cup campaign with neither side registering a win in their opening two group games but Bulloch remains in optimistic mood.
"The players are not coming into the squad raw, they've all had sessions under Matt Williams," he added.
"Obviously it's a big step up but I'm sure they'll be making every effort to get the best result for Scotland."
