It's a family affair for Graeme

Graeme Morrison will have family backing at Murrayfield today
Glasgow's Graeme Morrison revealed he will make his dad's dream come true by running out against Australia in the Abbey Autumn Test at Murrayfield today.

Graeme will win his third cap against the Wallabies having played twice against the Aussies in Scotland's summer tour Down Under.

However, the 22-year-old will be making his first appearance for the national side at Murrayfield and proud dad Ken, a former Glasgow High School player who won a 'B' cap for Scotland in 1974, will fly over from Hong Kong to see his son in action.

Graeme said: "My dad got a cap for Scotland B and then got a couple of injuries in his knee.

"He maybe realised then that he was not going to make it in rugby and followed a career out in Hong Kong.

"I was born there but my parents' plan was always to send me over here to school at Dollar Academy and I am very lucky that they did. If I had not come across then I would not have had these opportunities.

"But my dad will be here to see me against Australia.

"He always said that if I ever played for Scotland at Murrayfield then he would be there so he is sticking to his word.

"I will have most of my family there. My brother and sister are both at Dollar as well so they will be at the game although my mum is a bit busy in Hong Kong at the moment."

Morrison admits he was shocked to get a starting place in Matt Williams' side but the Glasgow player insists he will be going all out to make a name for himself.

And the 22-year-old claims it is about time the Australians were turned over by the Scots.

He said: "Getting my first two caps in Australia was everything I ever wanted.

"To get my first cap at home is a bit daunting though but it is something you always dream about when you first start playing rugby and now it is finally here.

"I thought there was a good chance I would be in the squad but it could have been any of the other centres starting so I am delighted to actually get the number 13 position.

"But the main focus is on having a good performance. We have worked really hard over the last few months since the summer tour to Australia and we have got to the stage where we deserve to beat the Australians and if we perform to our potential I don't see why we can't beat them.

"This is their first game for a while and we have been together for a bit now so if we perform as well as we can then we will get the win."
