Beattie and Eddie in U21 squad

John Beattie is in Scotland's U21 squad
Glasgow apprentices John Beattie and James Eddie have been included in the Scotland under-21 squad preparating for the Six Nations Championship.

A squad of 26 has been chosen for a match against The Borders back-up squad at Murrayfield on Monday and a final selection will follow this weekend's club matches.

Squad - Backs: Ben Addison (Stirling County), Brian Archibald (Stirling County), David Blair (Sale Sharks), Ben Cairns (Currie), Nic de Luca (Heriot's), Ben Di Rollo (Watsonians), Iain Kennedy (GHA), Garry Law (Hawick), Steve Manning (Ayr), Alasdhair McFarlane (GHA), Richard Snedden (Currie)

Forwards: John Beattie (Glasgow Warriors), Willie Brown (Hillhead/Jordanhill), Neil Cochrane (Watsonians), Stuart Corsar (Aberdeen GSFP), James Eddie (Glasgow Warriors and GHA), Stuart Fenwick (Ayr), Scott Forrest (Glasgow Hawks), Robert Haggerstone (Berwick), Scott Laird (Watsonians), Steven Lawrie (Watsonians), Alan MacDonald (Edinburgh Rugby and Heriot's), Ian Nimmo (Heriot's), Sean Tomes (Newcastle Falcons), Stuart Walker (Newcastle Falcons), Colin White (Stirling County)

Two players could not be considered due to injury - hooker Ross Ford (The Borders) and prop David Young (Leicester Tigers).
