Glasgow players in Scotland squad

Glasgow skipper, Jon Petrie, and Euan Murray are in Scotland's squad preparing to face the Baa-Baas and Romania
Glasgow is well represented in the Scotland squad of 30 which will gather for training next week ahead of the matches against the Barbarians and Romania.

Graeme Beveridge, Andy Craig, Andrew Henderson, Rory Lamont, Sean Lamont, Dan Parks, Scott Lawson, Euan Murray, Jon Petrie and Andrew Wilson are all included in the squad picked by Scotland's new interim coaching team. Also included is lock Craig Hamilton who will be joining Glasgow from Newcastle.

As one of Scotland's three British and Irish Lions – Gordon Bulloch is not included while Graeme Morrison (shulder injury) and Donnie Macfadyen (ongoing recovery from knee) aren't included due to injury.

Head coach Frank Hadden said: "We have picked the best 30 players available to us at present. The coaches' meeting yesterday to discuss selection went well. It was very constructive and there is a lot of excitement among us. We're really looking forward to getting stuck in."

The squad gather for three days of training at Murrayfield on Tuesday (10 May).

Scotland will play The Barbarians at Pittodrie, Aberdeen on Tuesday 24 May (kick-off 7.30pm) and Romania at the Dinamo Stadium, Bucharest on Sunday 5 June (kick-off 5pm local time).

was just wondering why nathan hines isnt there he is our best lock at the moment,i know there has been talk of his retiral from the international game but i hope it isnt yet we need somebody to play with the exciting young locks like andy kellock and craig hamilton

Ironic that with so little English based players in the squad Matt Williams' "fortress Scotland" ideals begin to show face as soon as he's off out the door!

Great to see so many Glasgow players in the squad, especially Scott Lawson, who's had a terrific season and has shown he is ready for international selection, and Euan Murray, who's had such a crap season, and is long overdue a change in fortunes. Hope they both, along with Andy Wilson and all the other Glasgow guys, grab the opportunity to force themselves onto International scene.
