He said: "I was pleased with my performance last week against the Barbarians so to be selected to start against Romania is good. It'll definitely be a step up – just like last week was a step up from rugby at Glasgow."
Scott has established himself as Glasgow's number one hooker over the last few months and he now has to maintain his challenge at national level.
"We shall see what happens next season," Scott said. "The game against the Barbarians was a step-up for me. I expect the Romanian match to be tougher.
"I am not an international player yet. Though I've worked very closely with Gordon Bulloch [currently with the British and Irish Lions in New Zealand] I'm by no means the finished article. This is only my first cap, but playing against the Barbarians with all their quality was a great experience."
