The 2005 French Championship semi-finalists found their playing resources stretched a year ago but Bonnaire is adamant they mean business this time.
"Last year was disappointing for us because we simply did not have a big enough squad to make any impact in the Heineken Cup," said the international back row forward.
"The Heineken Cup is a very important tournament for us and is the closest thing we have to international rugby. It is a great opportunity to play against some of Europe's strongest sides and help make our players even better in the Top 14.
"But we are in a big Pool with some big teams, Leinster – again – Bath Rugby and Glasgow Warriors.
"Our ambition is to make at least the quarter-finals this time but it is so important to try and win your first game so we must beat Glasgow at Stade Pierre Rajon on Friday night to give us confidence going into the next games.
"Leinster and Bath in particular are two very strong and solid sides – and although Brian O'Driscoll's injury means he might not play in either of the matches against us, even without him they are a powerful team.
"You must aim to win at least your home games so Glasgow are the team we are concentrating on at the moment to try and make a winning start."
