Glasgow's injury list is shortening

Ben Prescott's return is imminent
After a run of bad luck on the injury front things are starting to look up for Glasgow Warriors as they prepare for the second half of the season.

With the Warriors' casualty list reaching double figures at times, players like John Beattie, Colin Gregor and John Barclay have grabbed their chance to impress. But, with some tough trips to Wales and Ireland ahead, High Campbell will have the luxury of a stronger squad of players to choose from.

Jon Petrie, the captain, expects to make his return to action on Saturday, in time to challenge for a back row spot in Scotland's Six Nations Championship squad. With The Times reporting that Ben Prescott's comeback is imminent, the injury list could soon be down to the broken ankles of Calvin Howarth and Andrew Wilson, and Donnie Macfadyen's recurring knee problems.

Glasgow will, however, be without Mike Roberts, the wing who was sent off when playing for Ayr to get in some match practice after returning from a shoulder injury. He got his marching orders after being shown two yellow cards, and The Times expects him to be suspended for two weeks, meaning he should be available for next week's trip to Ulster.
