Andy has trained with his new team mates this week and will be registered in time for Friday's crunch game with Bristol.
Commenting on the announcement Andy said, "This is a massive opportunity for myself to come and play in the Guinness Premiership and prove myself against some of the best players in the world. It was first mentioned a couple of weeks ago that there might have been a chance to come to Leeds but it went quiet then so I am really pleased to have finally got it sorted.
"I have got great motivation to come to Headingley and play well because there is a chance I could earn a longer term contract here and that is what I am focused on. When you look at the example of Gordon Ross and Gavin Kerr it shows that if you play well for your club you can catch the eye of the international selectors so I have not counted that out. However, my first objective is to try and get in the side at Leeds and do well from there.
"I know Gavin and Gordon well from the Scottish squad and obviously Gordon Bulloch is at Leeds as well so it should not take too long to settle in!" added the former Rugby League player.
Director of Rugby Phil Davies commented, "I'm delighted to have been able to bring in a player of Andy's experience and quality, particularly at this time of the season. We have lost Rob Vickerman for the season so Andy will obviously help fill that gap and we have been short of outside backs this season so it it was an area we were looking to recruit in anyway."
