Sean has a score to settle
Sean Lineen hopes to make a winning start on his debut as Glasgow coach when his Warriors face Ospreys - and gain a wee bit of personal revenge over opposite number Lyn Jones.

Sean explained in The Scotsman: "I remember clearly facing up to Lyn back in 1985 when, as a rookie player, I was appearing for Pontypool against Neath - and I ended up having seven huge stitches above my eye after I was in 'collision' with his fist!

"Of course, there are no hard feelings now, but it would be lovely to get one over on him this weekend."

Sean also said in today's Daily Record: "We will be bringing some new faces to Glasgow.

"The problem is that many of the top names have already been snapped up - but we are homing in on guys from clubs who are facing relegation."

Take it we're looking at Leeds players then????

Maybe Sean meant Stirling County?

Unless Leeds are under severe financial pressure, they might try to keep their team together and bounce back up next year - they do get a "parachute" payout if they get relegated.

If players are forced to look elsewhere, Tom Palmer would be a good acquisition - he is a quality lock, with a bit of Scottish background even though he eventually went over to the Dark Side - but I'd reckon that if he became available other English teams might be able to make him a more attractive offer. Leeds also have a couple of large South African props - Lensing & Gerber.

Would be strange to bring back Bulloch, Craig, Ross or Reid.

More likely - Mark McMillan, Jon Dunbar - and maybe Roland De Marigny? I'm sure if Justin Marshall asked really, really politely, I reckon Sean would give him a run!
