Win or bust for Glasgow

Posted by Editor on May 10, 2006 01:50 PM | 3 comments | Print | E-mail author

Glasgow could do with a repeat of Rory Lamont's hatrick against Llanelli last season
Losing isn't an option for Glasgow when they take on The Scarlets at Firhill on Friday (ko 7.10pm).

The Warriors must win this game and hope that the Border Reivers lose if they are to keep their hopes alive for a Heineken Cup spot next season. Glasgow have however lost their last six matches in the Celtic League picking up just two league points in the process.

Llanelli Scarlets have won three of their last four matches, but away from home the Welshmen have lost their last six games since beating the Dragons 28-16 at Rodney Parade on 23 December. This is the Scarlets first ever visit to Firhill.

The two sides have met on seven previous occasions with Glasgow victorious twice - at Hughenden in November 2004 and at Stradey Park in April 2005.

Referee: TBC. Touch Judges: David Changleng (SRU), Jim Oswald (SRU)

A Lamont hatrick would be nice indeed but I personaly would be happy if he just played well and not have a howler of a game like he did on Sunday night..........

This is a big emotional game for new Warrior Colin Gregor, as he's 'half-Scarlet'! His mother's from Llanelli and Colin enjoyed many trips to Stradey as a youngster. She's has always been a keen Scarlet supporter so will find it very strange cheering on the Warriors on Friday.

Well, just so long as she is proud of her boy and the home fans show her how impressed we are with him, i'm sure her initial hesitations about who to cheer for will soon dry up.
Good luck tommorrow Gregor. Do us all proud!
