Glasgow confirm warm-up games

Glasgow Warriors will take on Newcastle Falcons in a pre-season double header
Glasgow Warriors have confiirmed their warm-up matches ahead of the new season.

Firstly the Warriors will be taking on English National Division One side Moseley. The Birmingham outfit, coached by former Scotland flanker Ian Smith, will play the Warriors in a training match at Whitecraigs on Friday 11 August at 4.00pm.

The following week, a double-header fixture against Guinness Premiership side Newcastle Falcons will take place at West Of Scotland FC's ground, Burnbrae in Milngavie. The match between the two sides' academy teams will kick off at 4.30pm with the main game kicking off at 6.30pm. The Falcons boast a host of stars including Australia’s Matt Burke and England’s Jonny Wilkinson and Jamie Noon.

Entry to the home matches against Moseley and Newcastle Falcons will be free of charge.

The Warriors will head down to Newcastle for the corresponding fixture the following week (Friday 25 August) at Kingston Park with an 8.00pm kick-off.

These games sound like they should be a lot of fun and the fact that they are free to watch makes up for a lot of the hassle we have endured over the last season or two!
It'll be interesting to see the great Mr Wilkinson again before the autumn tests. If he makes it that long....
