Among the group gearing up to face the Wallabies are ten players who were part of the successful Barclays Churchill Cup squad that reached the final at the Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton following victories over England A and Canada in June.
Edwards' selection features a mix of youth and experience as National Academy players such as the Warriors' Moray Low joins up with team-mate Jon Petrie.
Prop Bruce Douglas is not included in the A squad as he is working on a performance nutrition programme under the guidance of the Scottish Institute of Sport.
The Institute's high performance rugby coach Bob Easson explained: "With the full endorsement of Bruce, his pro-team coach Steve Bates, Henry Edwards and Scotland head coach Frank Hadden we are working on a performance nutrition programme with Bruce with a long-term goal of the RBS 6 Nations Championship and next year's Rugby World Cup in mind."
Looking ahead to playing the touring Wallabies in Perth, Edwards said: "The A team has always been well supported in Caledonia and this game is another opportunity for people in the area to see an exciting game of rugby.
"I'm keen to build on the fantastic work done over the summer in Canada and this game will give all of the guys who have being doing well with the pro-teams the opportunity to play for their country and make their claim for future national team selection."
