Sean is appealing

Sean Lamont is appealing his sin-binning
Scotland winger, and former Warrior, Sean Lamont is set to appeal the yellow card which was mistakenly issued to him instead of his brother, Rory.

After Rory shoulder-charged France centre David Marty, the yellow card was shown to his brother, Sean, who spent 10 minutes on the sidelines.

"I don't want that on my record," said the Northampton star last night after being sent to the sin bin for the first time in 29 Test appearances. "I'm going to try and get it overturned."

His brother, Rory, who had come on as a substitute for Dan Parks, criticised touch-judge Donal Courtney for dragging Sean into the controversy, but denied his late tackle was illegal in any case. "I was told it was a shoulder charge, that I didn't use my arms, but that is how I often tackled throughout my career. I do use my arms."

"How he (Courtney) got it so wrong when he was so close I can't understand. But I was glad I wasn't sent to the bin because I had only just come on!"
