It's been an eventful couple of years for Max since he joined up with the Warriors.
He joined up with brother Thom after coming north for a trial period with the Warriors and put in some great performances for Glasgow Hawks in Premiership One.
A former scrum-half in the academy set-up at Harlequins, eyebrows were raised when Glasgow coach Sean Lineen moved him to the wing with the intention of moulding him into a centre.
Although Max was surprised at the move, he admits things have worked out well for him despite one or two hiccups along the way.
He told The Glaswegian: I'm loving it at centre although the last month has been a wake-up call.
"Maybe I'd been feeling a bit too comfortable in the position and the Edinburgh and Newport defeats have made me realise that there is still a lot of work to be done in order to make this position my own.
"Perhaps it was a lack of concentration but with the Edinburgh loss, I definitely slipped up a few times so I'm determined to ensure that I don't make the same mistakes again.
"From day one, this was the plan. I had arrived to Glasgow as a scrum-half and Sean took me to one side and said that he saw me as a 13.
"He said, 'We'll play you on the wing first and then slowly ease you in', and to give credit to Sean that's exactly the way to go about it.
"My confidence has grown being involved on the wing so making the move across wasn't as daunting as it might have been.
"Plus moving to centre got me my first Scotland cap and it means that I am of more use to Sean should there be an injury situation with our wingers."
