The Warriors are guaranteed a place in the first-ever play-offs between the top four teams and they have a chance of securing a home semi-final match.
"Once you are in there, it's a case of two good games and you could come away victors," said Dan who is moves to Cardiff next season.
"That's the beauty of the play-off system. It is a huge opportunity.
"We've hopefully got three more games that can hopefully culminate in a win, but we have a lot of hard work to do before then.
"We need to do our job first up and that's to beat the Scarlets and, if we can get a bonus point, that would be great.
"We are going down there with the mindset of winning and seeing what happens.
"If we can get a home semi, it would be absolutely fantastic and the boys are up for it."
Dan hopes that Friday's win over Leinster won't prove to be his last at Firhill.
"It was very nice," he said of the reception from the home support. "The fans in respect to me have been fantastic.
"They have been right behind me even when at times they have not been the greatest.
"I will take a lot of that heart that they have given me over the years and hopefully take it to Cardiff and move on in the right direction.
"But certainly this season has been awesome. It has been really enjoyable.
"I think the way the competition is, it is really tight," he said. "Last week, there were seven teams who could have potentially make the play-offs.
"In years gone by, it has been a consistency thing all season to see if you could finish on top of the table and take the crown.
"Whereas this year, you could possibly be afforded poor weeks here and there and make the top four and do something from there.
"If we get in there and have two big games, potentially we could win it and there would be no greater feeling for me personally than to leave on that note and to thank the city of Glasgow for what has been an incredible seven years of my life."
