Warriors must raise the standard

Johnnie Beatiie expects a tough encounter at the Liberty Stadium
Glasgow's Johnnie Beattie says Glasgow will have to raise their game again if they want to overcome Ospreys at the Liberty Stadium on Friday.

Glasgow's bonus point win at Scarlets was just what they needed for a chance of a semi-final at Firhill but Ospreys grabbed a try bonus of their own in their big win over an injury-hit Dragons team. Now Glasgow face a trip another trip to Wales and the No 8 says the Warriors will have to take their game to another level if they want to grab the win over the Ospreys and a place in the Grand Final.

“We did feel we could have played a lot better even though we had won with a bonus point," said Johnnie in the Times. "There were a number of aspects of our game that did not go well and we know we are going to have to raise them if we are to put up a decent fight and earn a victory at the end of this week.”

The Ospreys are familiar opponents for the Warriors with both teams providing the bulk of the players that lined up in the Six Nations match in Wales in February.

“We know all about them,” Johnnie said. “They play a hard blitz defence, which can be tough to play against but I’m sure we will prepare well and work on ways of breaking them down, as we did with the national team. We will draw on the positives from the international, the fact that we did play some good rugby and managed to score some good tries.”

need to cut out the needless penalties and any yellow cards against us will mean losing the game.

Tough ask but if the play at their best who knows...
