Glasgow trailed 16-6 at half-time before coming back to win 22-19 in last week's Magners League opener against Leinster.
Calum told the Evening Times: “We were slow out the blocks against Leinster and it nearly cost us. Before the break, our scrum creaked and everything did not go at all well at the lineout.
“We managed to put that right in the second half, but we must start at Dragons as we finished against Leinster if we are to back up the opening win.
“The fact the Dragons lost their opening match at Connacht will make them even more determined.
“As a group we are looking at this as a great chance to play week-in week-out.
“Every season when the Six Nations comes around we lose all our big names, so the young guys have to stand up and be counted.
“That has stood us in good stead for the way this season has started with so many injuries.
“You saw against Leinster that we have learned how to tough it out. It is going to have to be more of the same at Rodney Parade.”
