Glasgow's young Warrior making his mark

Robert Harley faces Wasps at Adams Park tomorrow
Glasgow's injury problems this season are well documented but the absence of so many established players has given some young Warriors a chance to impress.

Robert Harley, the 20-year-old flanker was playing club rugby with West Of Scotland last season but has stepped up to the pro game with a series of fine performances.

Rob is at blindside for the Heineken Cup clash at Adams Park where he'll face Wasps vastly experienced back row.

The former Douglas Academy pupil told the Scoptsman: "To come out of club rugby and get the opportunity to start so many games is beyond what I thought I'd be able to achieve. I get nervous every week when they are announcing the squad but it's a big relief to have your name read out.

"I came off the bench in the pre-season game against Wasps, and we're bearing that game in mind in terms of how dangerous they are but we've looked at more recent games, and if we come together as a squad we've got a chance."

Sean Lineen is among the many observers who have been impressed with Rob's progress.

"Wherever he plays he plays with 100 per cent commitment. He's a machine that just keeps going," said the Glasgow coach.

"He's very determined, very driven. He wants to get to the top but he knows he has to do it with Glasgow first. To have a guy like that who leads by example at such a young age is testament to the character of the lad. Whether he's training or playing he doesn't change.
