Jon Welsh is ready for the next test
Glasgow's Jon Welsh says his tussle with Ospreys' prop Adan Jones will be another test in his recovery to full fitness.

Jon missed a chunk of last season with a stress fracture to his leg but the young prop thinks he's getting back to his best.

Jon told the Evening Times: “I have felt my form is slowly but surely coming back, and I was pretty pleased with how my game held up technically against Wasps. But the fixture with Ospreys will provide a real test of that with Adam Jones in the opposition front-row at tight-head.

“While I am looking forward to facing Jones, the battle up front is going to be won and lost in the tight five. I think we are going to have to lift things up a level from the Wasps match.”

Jon says he's been delighted with the way the Warriors’ supporters have kept the faith with their injury-hit team.

He said: “With the level of injury we have sustained after last season it was always going to be a tough start to the current campaign, but the support has never wavered.

“Last Sunday at Wasps the fans who made their way to Adams Park were still urging us on at the end and that was massive for the boys.

“Sunday is going to be another huge challenge for us but, if the fans get behind us like they did against Leinster in our first Magners League game, we can definitely come out on top.”
