T-Bone moves on

Kevin Tkachuk is leaving the Warriors at the end of the season
Glasgow Warriors have confirmed that Canadian prop Kevin Tkachuk will leave the club at the end of the season.

Kevin, or T-Bone as he is affectionately known, joined Glasgow in 2004 from English outfit PerTemps Bees, having previously played for Oxford in three University matches against Cambridge at Twickenham.

T-Bone quickly became a popular figure among Glasgow suppporters, both on and off the pitch. He turned out for the Barbarians - complete with Warriors socks - in May 2006 in the Murrayfield match against Scotland. Only a few days before that match he was named Glasgow Warriors’ Player of the Year at the Scottish Rugby Awards Dinner.

Sean Lineen paid tribute to the 34-year-old: "Kev has been a great servant to Glasgow. He is a committed team man and a tremendous person.

"He's been crucial to our success over the last few years as we've been building and has been ever-present in the squad. I wish him well for when he moves on."

Best of luck T Bone, you've been outstanding.

Sad to see my favourite ever Warrior leaving. Always remember seeing him try to run off what looked like a really nasty shoulder injury against Leinster in the H-Cup a few years ago (2005?). Total commitment and hard as nails (in short Canadian). Will be missed.
Good luck in whatever you do next and in the future T-Bone.

His left arm hanging limp by his side? a couple of roars and a thump and he had it back moving. Incredible stuff.

Have always found it amazing that Glasgow were able to hold onto a genuinely two sided prop who was also a good ball carrier. Who ever replaces him will have big shoes to fill.
